Preparations Begin for Galichnik Wedding 2025 – Applications Open for Bride and Groom
This summer, Galichnik will once again become the focal point of the Macedonian public and beyond, as it hosts the unique cultural jewel – the Galichnik Wedding. The local community has announced that preparations for the manifestation have begun, with the event set to take place over the traditional Petrovden holiday weekend, from July 11 to 13.
“Once again, we will open the chests of dowry, dress in ceremonial wedding attire, adorn the wedding flag, and with three ceremonial rifle shots, announce the joy of our newlyweds, who will seal their love with a wedding in Galichnik. Staying true to tradition, we will preserve our centuries-old customs from oblivion through wedding processions, songs, and dances, creating another unforgettable Galichnik Wedding,” the Local Community of Galichnik stated.
Couples interested in crowning their love during Petrovden are invited to apply no later than April 20.
“Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line ‘Application for Bride and Groom’ and tell us why you are the perfect couple for this year’s celebration. Priority will be given to those who:
- have origins from Galichnik (either one or both partners),
- have previously participated in the Galichnik Wedding in another role,
- are active members of the local community,
- and couples for whom this will be their first church wedding,” the organizers announced.
The decision on the selection of the bride and groom for the Galichnik Wedding 2025 will be announced no later than May 31.
